How to Build a Base Resume from Your LinkedIn Profile
Do not have a PDF resume ready? Paste your LinkedIn profile text to build a full base resume in 30 seconds.
Why Use LinkedIn Text Import?
If you do not have an up-to-date resume file, you can paste the text from your LinkedIn profile. This is ideal for recent graduates, career changers, or anyone who keeps their LinkedIn profile more current than their resume PDF.
We do not require you to connect your LinkedIn account or share OAuth credentials. You simply copy and paste your text into the box.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open your LinkedIn profile page in a new browser tab.
- Select and copy the text across your Headline, About, Experience, Education, and Skills sections.
- In your ResumeSkip workspace, click 'Import Resume' and open the 'Paste LinkedIn Profile' tab.
- Paste your copied text into the box and click 'Build my resume from this'.
- Review the organized text, give the resume a name, and click 'Save and match a job' (or 'Save only'). Your background is now a base resume ready for 1-click tailoring.
