Installing and Using the ResumeSkip Browser Extension

What the Extension Does

The ResumeSkip browser extension opens as a side panel in your browser. When you view any job listing on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, or company career pages, the extension automatically extracts the job title and requirements.

With 1 click, you can tailor your saved resume to match the posting, check match scores, and download an ATS-ready Word (.docx) file without switching browser tabs.

Supported Browsers & Availability

The ResumeSkip extension is fully released on both the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons (AMO), and works seamlessly across Chromium-based browsers and Firefox:

• Google Chrome: Fully supported and available on the Chrome Web Store.
• Brave: Fully supported (install directly from the Chrome Web Store).
• Microsoft Edge: Fully supported (allow extensions from other stores in Edge settings).
• Opera and Vivaldi: Fully supported via the Chrome Web Store.
• Mozilla Firefox: Fully supported and available on Firefox Add-ons (AMO).

Mobile Users: Browser extensions are desktop-only. On mobile, use our full web application at /dashboard with zero restrictions.

Installation Steps

1. Visit our Browser Extension page at /extension, or open the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons listing directly.
2. Click 'Add to Chrome' (or 'Add to Firefox') and confirm the installation permissions in the browser prompt.
3. Click the puzzle piece icon in your browser toolbar and pin the ResumeSkip icon for instant access.
4. Click the ResumeSkip icon to open the side panel, then sign in to your ResumeSkip account using your email verification code.

How to Tailor Resumes Directly on Job Postings

1. Navigate to any job listing on LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Indeed, Ashby, or a company careers page.
2. Click the ResumeSkip extension icon in your toolbar to open the side panel.
3. The extension automatically detects the job title and description on the page.
4. Pick your desired base resume from your account dropdown.
5. Review your ATS keyword match score and click 'Tailor & Download .DOCX' to save your tailored Word resume.
